Meet Julie: Hospital Legend and Fundraising Queen
Julie is, without a doubt, a legend in our community. If you’ve spent any time at the hospital, you’ve probably seen her in action—always ready to crack a joke and bring some humor to the workday. Not only does she have an incredible sense of humor, but she’s also a powerhouse when it comes to giving back. Julie spends her time raising funds for the hospital and auxiliary, the Cancer Society, and countless other organizations in Stamford. Basically, if there’s a cause that needs support, you can count on Julie to step up and make it happen. Which is why she just couldn’t say no to helping raise funds as a Showing with the Stars participant.
Julie is ready to tackle showing a stubborn sheep, a stinky pig, and a 1500 lbs heifer as long as she doesn’t have to show a…chicken.
When she’s not raising funds or dodging chickens, Julie is all about spending time with her family. She even gets her grand kids in on fundraising with her when they take bags to the Cancer Center in GI for Christmas.
Julie was a 4H-er growing up, but stuck with baking, cooking and sewing. So she’s a little hesitant to show livestock.
Julie’s got a heart as big as her laugh, and that’s what truly counts! So, if you see Julie at the fundraiser, be sure to give her a high five for all the amazing work she does—and maybe keep any chickens at a safe distance.
