Meet Troy McDonald: The Pivot King with a Passion for Funnel Cakes

Troy McDonald may have grown up in Overton, but these days, he's serving Phelps and Harlan county, one pivot at a time. For the past seven years, he’s been talking about pivots nonstop at Holdrege Irrigation. And when he’s not discussing the fine art of pivot systems, you’ll probably catch him at a basketball game or car races, living the high-speed life during his rare moments off.

Troy’s home life is just as lively as his work life. Married to Lincey Martin McDonald, together they raise two girls—Calliegh, an 8th grader at Southern Valley, and Ansliegh, a second grader. In his spare time, he and his family raise Olde English Bulldogs, adding a bit of fun and a whole lot of love to their busy lives.

When Troy’s not talking pivots or chasing after his girls, he’s behind the fryer at their food truck, Bulldawg Bites, cooking up some of the best funnel cakes in town. If you’re lucky, you might even catch him slinging a deep-fried treat at the fair this week!

Troy McDonald isn’t just a guy who works hard—he’s the guy who shows up, makes a difference, and brings a whole lot of heart to everything he does. Next time you’re at the fair, stop by Bulldawg Bites and say hello!

If you would like to see Troy in the Showing with the Stars at 5:30 on July 31st, be sure to vote for him by clicking the link below.
